3D Boat Design Software
In the past, all that boat builders had to work with was simple 2D plans. They had to carefully read the measurements and cross reference profiles with overhead views in order to interpret the exact specifications of a ship that they were building. Fortunately, as ship designs have grown increasingly more complex, so have the design tools that are available. While it’s still possible and even preferable to build small boats using hand-drawn plans, more complicated designs can make use of 3D boat design software to make the process much easier.
Designing a model in 3D is itself a pretty daunting task. Most people would have trouble working in that sort of environment without a lot of training. So, the way that many design programs work is that you are able to draw the design first in 2D. Then, you specify the dimensions, and the software automatically generates a 3D model based on those specifications. Once the model has been created, it is much easier to manipulate, as the designer can modify specific points in the design, or set the properties of specific sections of the ship.
